We loved this place. It's easy base for visiting some must see attractions in West Point. Room was big, had everything we needed. Their valet rocks!
It was worth its 3 stars. Really nice position along with affable staff are the reasons we liked it.
the staff was loyal, and we had the benefit of just 15 minutes' walk right to michie stadium. easy access to west point academy. the free wi-fi was available. we enjoyed this hotel.
Nothing everything was great!
We enjoyed the bed, which was comfy. It truly was a PERFECT experience. The staff were amazing every time you dealt with them. The airport is 30 km away.
Very friendly staff. Historical West Point venue
historic location top quality accomodations and a friendly atmosphere with good dining atmosphere.
Very lovely hotel. Lobby was tastefully decorated for the holidays. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a beautiful view of river
There is great heritage here in this old hotel, and the lobby are is truly magnificent with lots of stone work and old photos from the past - especially of former generals etc. who have stayed there. If you have a military back ground, as I do, it is outstanding. If not, its is still a great place to stay and good food and great hospitality. The price is fair for the area, and the location - right inside the main gate to the usma at West Point, is perfect for area tourists and visitors.
We happened to have a room best to the vending machines, which gave off a disturbing noise all night long that mace it difficult to sleep. Other than that, the rooms seemed well maintained considering that this hotel is nearly 100 years old....
A good hotel near West Point.
The restaurant was very good.
It was very cold in the room and the main areas. The wind came through the windows and was not blocked by drapes. There were only shades on the windows.
The location is beautiful. I last stayed at the Thayer many years ago. The "makeover" was much needed and extremely successful. The hotel now matches the scenic beauty of its surroundings.
Spacious, sense of history, beautiful scenery
There was no small refrigerator to keep drinks cold
Location, history and assisted parking
matress and box spring needed to be replaced 25 years ago, windows so dirty that you could not see the wonderfull view of the Hudson, hair on the shower wall, paint on the window frames, dirt ring on the sink etc. -- so bad we checked out a day early
We so very much liked the Thayer. Such a beautiful view of the Hudson River from our room.
We originally booked thru Booked.net for $119 and were charged $169. How did that happen? Wished they'd have been a pool or hot tub but probably can't as the building itself is so old.
We felt the food throughout the hotel was mediocre
